The last few days have been a whirlwind for the Forum team! Since the overwhelming vote favouring launching legal action against Calderdale Council’s adopted local plan, the fundraising effort is showing massive success.
From the adoption of the local plan, there is a six-week limit on applying to the High Court to complete the documents, engage the solicitor and establish the filing within a week has been hard work (and long nights)
The Forum selected CrowdJustice to manage the fundraising appeal. There are significant benefits to using a dedicated legal crowdfunding platform: saving time and costs, providing data protection compliance and giving donators confidence as CrowdJustice will send funds directly to the solicitor. We reached the £5,000 reserve in less than three days. CrowdJustice will collect donations pledged shortly (the Bank Holiday might delay the collection day).
A page has been created on the forum website, providing further updates on the legal action
