Scarecrow Festival event

September 2022

Following the announcement of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, we have taken time to review our planned Scarecrow Festival, seek official guidance and discuss if the event should be postponed or continue with modifications.

We are a community association and strive to bring our community together, we recognise the deep affection held for the Queen today, as we did when the village celebrated the Queen’s Silver, Golden and Platinum Jubilees.

The consensus view of the Scarecrow Committee is that the 2022 event should continue, that we should invite the community to join us again, but with modifications to reflect we are in a period of national mourning.

We will open the event by paying our respects, and the event opening timings will be reduced to minimise noise.

Should the State Funeral be announced for any of the planned days, the festival will close on this day.

We understand some people may now decide not to attend the event, if you have already purchased tickets and do not wish to attend, you can claim a full refund.
